It's simple, and you can get a grasp on its mechanics pretty quickly if you have decent reflexes. That being said, for anyone who doesn't normally play video games, it could come off as super confusing--the jetpack is delayed and accelerates awkwardly, you can die in an instant because the maps are so small, and you'll undoubtedly blow your own brains out with the plasma cannon numerous times (it bounces off walls). However, if you take some time to get a feel for the game, it's really good. And, like I said, simple.Buy it to ♥♥♥♥ around with friends. I could see impromptu tournaments being really fun. However, if you're going to be playing singleplayer, spend your money elsewhere. You won't be getting the intended experience.. TLDR VERSION: ChargeShot is an Action-Packed local multiplayer brawl-fest that stands toe-to-toe with the other juggernauts of the genre. If you're asking youself, should I buy this, just ask yourself this: "Do I want a game thatt I can show to any of my frieds and have a good time with, no matter how good they are at videogames, Do I want a game that is both mechanicly deep and fun and simple? If the answer is yes then ChargeShot is just the game for you.Pros: Great art if you dig pixel art with a grunge 90's 'zine feel to them, Simple intuitive controls, fast & fun gameplay, Gameplay is deep and strategic, lots of interesting arenas that change up the mechainics, full controller support, supports up to 4 players.Cons: The games single-player content isn't much to shake stick at, No online multiplayer(The real fun of this game comes from playing with friends locally, if thats not something you can do you might not get the full experience of this game), PC only. ChargeShot is another game trying to fit in to the flood of local-multiplayer games. Unfortunately despite a fun soundtrack and visual style it lacks the depth and replayability of other local multiplayer games. All the characters play the same and can do three things: move, shoot and deflect bullets. This would be fine as most of the stars of the local-multiplayer arena games excel due to their simple, easy to grasp controls. However games like Nidhogg, Towerfall, Samurai Gunn and the like have a much greater depth in their gameplay. This game feels particularly like a watered-down version of Samurai Gunn. The game moves too slow for what it is and most of the sessions my group had devolved into a game of pong with the shields. You can only shoot horizontally, making things entirely too predictable and there are no options for an up close game. The stages are the only thing that provide any real variety with deathtraps, changes to the way your bullets fly and other alterations. While this can be fun , it rarely matters on a majority of the stages due to the excessively simple gameplay. You never feel the need to put yourself in danger or interact with the stages quirks due to the fact that it generally provides you no advantage to do so. Ultimately, while it is a fine base this game really lacks the extra something to set it apart from the rest of the crowd.Some things I think would make the game more fun:-Speed it up-Character Unique abilities, gun types or even different speeds and weights.-A Momentum buildup with defelcted bullets (like Lethal League)-Be able to shoot in more directions with more wallbounces-More layouts for each stage type (Like Towerfall or Samurai Gunn)I'm not saying add all of these things but as it is I feel the game lacks any 'holy crap did you see that!' moments which are a big part of making it interesting. After Playing each level about twice my entire group asked if we could go back to one of the other games mentioned above. I think the fact we were bored when usually we spend our time screaming and cheering and holding our breath during close games never happened with this game is a sign something is wrong.. I suck at this game so much! But every time I play I have an amazing time, I guess that's the mark of a good game. I love this silly little game.Yes, it's like TowerFall, Samurai Gunn, and many others couch mulitplayer games; but that is what you want when you buy this game, and it's what you should expect. Is it a best in class, able to offer the wealth of content and gameplay that TowerFall does? Not really, but what it does offer is pretty damn fun, and it doesn't set out to be the next TowerFall.ChargeShot has a consistent visual style all it's own, and simple gameplay mechanics everyone can grasp. The dev's have been responsive enough with tweaks and patches. What keeps me returning to ChargeShot is it's simple single player mode. I'm lucky to be a parent, so I have "made" people to play TowerFall and Gang Beasts with, but sometimes you just want to play a couple of minutes of single player at the end of the day, and this game allows you to do just that and still have fun.. A quirky PvP deathmatch game. It's simple, but not super fun compared to other games I have played before. It just passes in terms of playability, but likely won't be the game I choose to play with friends during parties.. Don't buy it so I have less people to compete with in the leaderboard i want to be in the game. This game is really cool, once you buy it, it seems like it's no whort enought, but after you play multiplayer with your friends, ir becomes really better, and it motivates you to unlock all the levels and characters. if you have no one to play this game, dont buy it, but if you can play it with your friends, dont think it twice. in simple words, it\u00b4s like an: Super Smash bro derp, but funcional. it decerves an online multiplayer. really really fun.
